| I'm only going to be able to come in the morning. I'm kinda surprised that we're using a fair chunk of the available area for parking (assuming earlier thoughts that the parking areas north of the trees at the top of the track course). Looks like it'll be a Miata/Elise happy course, 1st gear for me with occasional forays into 2nd. IOW, about like TMS. Of course, I've never been there from an autox standpoint before. It might be that the scale is much larger than I think, in which case it's gonna be a much more balanced (from car make standpoint) POV. In any case, I'll be there! Any autox is better than NO autox! Have a good one, Mike

It is a prettty BIG lot. Definitely bigger than TMS. I don't have a problem gridding up in another location, and maybe we will in the future... There are some unusable patches of pavement however, and there is also a hill that is in the lot where the grid and paddock are as well as some logistics regarding using another part of the lot for grid and paddock. It's our first event there, so we'll dip the foot in the pool a little bit as opposed to diving in.

Yeah, I think you are not understanding how big the lot is. Or I'm not. You should not touch first gear again after leaving the start. I left the course exiting turns one and three a little open for speed. This might help with the size:
What you cannot tell from the pic is the peak that runs top to bottom along where the start and finish are. It is pretty steep -- you cannot see the other side from 20' on either side. So, to use the area where the grid and paddock are, you will be blind going over the hill, which might be unsafe. Perhaps with more experience with the place we will change our minds. Until then, I can only allow myself to use a single side for the course.

| The venue does have a restroom for us inside the valet parking entrance. I have circled it on the map below.

| I was there (Lone Star Park) today for an autox and the lot is just shredding into gravel all over. Every corner has lots of gravel all across it by the middle of the first run group. I can only imagine what it will be like after SCCA has their practice tomorrow on the site. There is seams all along the lot and at the majority of them the asphalt is just breaking up with each car. Not very encouraging.

| Also, many people had problems figuring out how to get to the lot, since many of the gates were closed, which is good for keeping people off of the course during the event. The following is from the bottom of the course map that Ken posted. Please not this before coming... From Beltline Rd, enter at most southern entry (Gates 3/4/5, Lone Star Parkway) and continue to Gate 5/Pollock Pl. Take a left on Pollock. Take a left on the next street (not parking lot entrance), go to the end, and take a right into the lot.

When you arrive at the event, you will notice that the paddock area is on an incline. In order to make it easier for those that change tires, I suggest that everyone park parallel to the incline (facing north/south), which is perpendicular to the parking spaces. This way, cars are not facing up/down hill. Also, if you are a tire changer, there is a strip of cement along the far right side of the course map that is pretty level. Bring a wheel chock of some kind if you are changing tires.
