This year's night-time Autocross is Saturday September 12th and the regular points paying autocross will be on SUNDAY September 13th.   A block of ten rooms has been set aside for the club at the Best Western in Mineral Wells.

Best Western Club House Inn & Suites

Best Western Club House Inn & Suites
4410 Highway 180 E US Mineral Wells, Texas, 76067-8383, United States
Phone: 940/325-2270

If you would like to spend the night in Minerall Wells between the night autocross and the autocross event 7 the next day, the room rate is $69.95  for  a double occupancy room with either two double  beds or a single bed.   Contact the hotel and mention the Lone Star BMW  Block.  Ten rooms are being held, three are  already  reserved for committee members.  Make your reservations now, or else you might end up staying at the Budget Host Inn  (NOT  recommeded, I can tell you that from experience!     )

Speaking of that... Preferences for the meal for this year? Last year, we did brisket... Back to brats for this year? Brisket again? Tournedos Bearnaise?

I'd rather be autocrossing...

I will be in Lincoln, NE at the SCCA Solo Nationals, so I will miss this event.  I always look forward to it, so have fun without me.  I will probably miss the food most of all!

Perhaps we should ad a little more excitement to the event. For food we can have some of that potentially fatal Japanese Blowfish prepared by a chef 'in training'.

Yep. Same weekend as SCCA Nationals and NASA Nationals.

Sorry SCCA Nationals guys.... September is ALWAYS tough to schedule, because labor day weekend takes one weekend out of the mix. This year we also have BMWCCA Oktoberfest the last part of the month (or at least it is a possible travel day), and of course I don't always get to pick my weekends if another club has booked before I do. I definitely try to avoid conflicts, but have to of course prioritize! And of course I used to schedule in October, but all the native Texans don't seem to take chilly nights very well

Since my AX season is already toast due to conflicts I'm going to be at MSR this same weekend with TDE. If Billie want to come out for the night AX again we'll stay in MW and I'll hang out with her. Then I may try to get 4 runs in the AM (unlike the tire baking 8 in a row like last year) and get back on the road to Cresson to finish the DE.

I plan to attend this year for the first time.  How do you handle dinner?  Does everyone bring something?
