Saddened by the lack of a LSC fall DE? Seems like the local P-car guys can pull off one a month... What is it with local BMW owners?

I'd rather be autocrossing...

Not that I am aware of, unless several people were swayed to do so... The post in this forum is from last year - and, there's nothing on the website.

I'd rather be autocrossing...

There will not be another event this year for the LSC chapter.  The only available dates either conflicted with holidays or were the same weekend as PCA or Driver's Edge events and we wouldn't have had sufficient staffing to put on an event.  The next LSC event will be in APRIL 2010 at MSR.  We were able to re-secure our normal April date for next year (so hopefully no more cold weather like this year's March!)

Feel free to post your DE events in the Open Track forum at www.dfwmiata.com.  We have quite a few track guys there that might be interested, but perhaps they do not know about the events.  I assume that like the AX events, you do not need a BMW.

I already post each of your autocrosses there.

It's actually Chicken Little's fault.    Too many people believed that the sky was  falling....

I'm bummed too. I really enjoyed the last two. But since my AX season is hosed due to conflicts I guess I'll be doing a couple of TDE events at MSR and TWS this fall.

The fact that PCA has several DE's per year hurts us in more ways than one.  It's not just the competition...we need their instructors to put on an event.  If we decided to have a few more and try to compete on the same weekend or even a week different either way I bet we'd have a hard time drawing those guys over more than a couple times per year.

Instructors are not owned,  or " betrothed",  to any particular club.   The *majority* of instructors I know instruct with multiple clubs. For example,  an instructor may  work with  BMW CCA, LSR PCA ,  MAV PCA , The Driver's Edge, Apex,  TWS Motorsports Club   or any  combination  of the above.    Most instructors make  their decisions on what events to attend based on their own personal schedules.   From my experience as an instructor with LSR PCA,  it was expected that one would attend  four or more of the 6 events they held.  Even with the events being 3 hours away at TWS, I instructed  four  to six events there,  our two events, and other events out of the region as well (Hallet, Barber, etc)..    The harsh reality is that the primary limitations to our running more events have come from within our own club.   If you build it, they will come, and that is true for students as well as instructors.
