Tour Update 05/23/2016

Sat, 5/28 9:00p – ~12:30p: Rockett Run
We’ll be starting Memorial Day weekend off with a half-day tour of the South-east area of the Dallas side of town.  We’ll start at Denny’s in Seagoville (Cotton Gin of Crandell is still closed) at 9:00a (400 US-175 Frontage Rd, Seagoville, TX 75159).  Arrive early to have breakfast with a few of us.  We’ll head out after a quick driver’s meeting and travel around the area and arrive at Rockett Cafe (5790 FM813, Waxahachie, TX 75165) about 12:30p.  Raymond Mimick is leading this one and you can let him know by email at  The maps are available here.

Sat, 6/4 9:45a – noonish: Hutchins BBQ post Cafs & Coffee run
Brian George is leading ( our group out of Cars & Coffee (meet point: SMU Plano Campus parking lot 5326 Tennyson Pkwy, Plano, TX 75024).  This will be a morning drive north of the Plano area arriving at Hutchins BBQ for lunch.

Maps are still to come but make plans now.

Upcoming Tours

  • June
    • 4th: Cars & Coffee start; McKinney lunch (Brian)
  • July
    • CANCELLING the 4-day event; 2-5th: New Mexico or Colorado (4th of July to be in some city to watch) (Ray)
    • 2nd: Fun run for July 4th (Ray)
    • NEW Sunday, 17th: Afternoon Drive starting about 3:00p.

Make your plans now to participate on the Gimmick Rally.  Last year we had 5 teams participate and it was a great event.  We’ll be shortening the length to about 200 miles and be closer to the DFW area as the end point.  You will need both a driver and a navigator to participate but if you are only one part of the equation, sign-up now and we’ll work to pair the participants.
