2021 Tour List and Maps

Overview

This page contains the 2021 tour list and the maps we used for the tour group.  Road conditions may have changed or destinations may no longer be present (ie, restaurant has closed or changed hands).  Enjoy our past tours or look for some ideas for your future road travels.

This list may change through out 2021:

Fri, 1/1/2021: Hair of the Dog.  Join us for our sixth-annual DFW copy of Houston’s Hair of the Dog event celebrating a new year with twisty roads and enjoyable friends.  We’re looking to bring everyone back closer to Fort Worth at the end or to a restaurant with outdoor, heated seating area.  Starting Point: Starbucks 1952 S Main St Weatherford, TX 76086 @ 9:00a; Ending Point: The BBQ Ranch(http://www.thebbqranch.com/menu.html) @12:20p
10250 Western Oaks Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76108.  Maps

Sat, 2/20: Gimmick Rally 1p-6:30p from Downtown Decatur, TX.  A Gimmick Rally is a scavenger hunt looking for the answers to clues along a pre-defined route.  We’ll set a time-limit to the event and keep us within reasonable distance of the city.  The winner is the one that answers the most Gimmicks with arrival time and check point times being the tie-breaker. Starting Point: Sweetie Pies Ribeyes (201 W Main St, Decatur, TX 76234). Arrive early if you want to have lunch there. We will end in Roanoke, TX.  Clues  Answers

Sat, 3/13: East Texas and Palestine Tour
Due to the road conditions along the route desired to head to Corsicana, we’re changing this to trip from Seagoville to Palestine and ending in Canton, TX.  Starting from the Walmart in Seagoville (behind the Denny’s – 220 US-175, Seagoville, TX 75159), we’ll head out and down to Palestine and back. We’ll end the trip at Duke’s Travel Plaza in Canton, TX (about an hour from Dallas on I-20). If you can join us, please email tours@lscbmwcca.org to let us know you’re coming.  For those who want lunch, Craft 64 has outside and inside dining and the Duke’s Travel Plaza has a few options, too.  Maps and we used pages 13-17 from the 2015 trip once we reached the rest stop in Palestine.

Sat, 4/3 (Easter Weekend): Cranfills Gap – starting from QT in Burleson nearest to Joshua, TX (2690 SW Wilshire Blvd, Burleson, TX 76028), we’ll take our group out and drive some interesting roads to end in Cranfills Gap at the Horny Toad Bar & Grill. Maps
