Tri-Chapter AutoX, on Sunday, June 9th at the Circuit of the Americas

There is a Tri-Chapter AutoX, on Sunday, June 9th at the Circuit of the Americas, in Austin TX.

This is our time to show the Houston Chapter, and those Austinites who insist on “Keeping it Weird,” that LSCBMWCCA produces the best Autocrossers in the state!

A link for registering on Motorsports Reg can be found here:

If you haven’t AutoX’d before, it’s some of the most competitive racing there is. The difference between 1st and 2nd, can easily be in the thousandths of a second range. It doesn’t get much closer than that!

Our next LSCBMW scheduled AutoX is Saturday, June 22 at Mineral Wells, and I invite all of our members out to give it a try!

I hope to see you all at any of our BMW Autocrosses!

Street Survival School April 6, 2013

The school will be held on April 6 and October 13 2013 at Pennington Field in Bedford, TX. Info/registration is at www.streetsurvival.org.

Tire Rack Street Survival goes beyond antiquated high-school driver education programs, which put more focus on classroom theory and parallel parking rather than controlling a two-ton vehicle at speed.

The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival program is a “hands-on” driving experience in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them.

The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.
