1/1/2017: Hair of the Dog Tour

If you are interested, please email Raymond at rmimick@iname.com so we can get you our list to watch for you. Last year was a great day. Early forecasts show potential rain. We’ll still do the drive unless there is snow and ice.

3/3/2017 – 3/5/2017: Fredericksburg Tour

When: Friday, March 3rd, 2017 to Sunday, March 5th, 2017
Where: Fredricksburg and the twisted sister roads
Departure point: Home Depot in Cleburne, 10am (trying to avoid rush hour Friday traffic)

We will be using the Sunday House Inn again this year for our hotel. We have reserved 15 rooms (2 Queens or 1 King) at 124.95/night for the King and 129/night for the 2-Queens. Rooms will remain available at this rate until February 15, 2017. Please call Judy at 830-997-4484 to reserve your room. Our rooms are reserved under the Lone Star BMW. Last year we were able to get ahead of Spring Break and that is the current plan for this year. We will probably still miss out on the Blue Bonnets but you never know with Texas. As an alternative, Fredericksburg Inn & Suites has been renovated but the rates for the same weekend were 189/night.

General Plan:
Day 1 (Fri): Utilizing our past tour’s routes (without the gravel detour, sorry), we’ll have a quick trip down to Fredericksburg arriving about 4pm. Pit-stop schedules: Cleburne to Hico, Hico to lunch in Goldthwaite. Goldthwaite to Llano. Llano to Fredericksburg. Hotel Check in, Wine Tasting tour if desired and then dinner at our favorite German restaurant.

Day 2 (Sat): Starting about 8:00a, we’ll follow last year’s drive (which was marked by hitting all 3 twisted sister roads and a few extras thrown in), we’ll stop in Leaky for lunch and gas. We’ll return to the hotel about 4:00p. Dinner plans are still being determined

Day 3 (Sun): Return trip to DFW (10a) following some twisty roads. Last year we stopped in Glen Rose for BBQ but I’ll look for some additional locations along the route home.

Please let me (Raymond Mimick) know (via tours@lscbmwcca.org or rmimick@iname.com) when you make your reservations and we’ll get a list together for everyone.

4/15/2017: Cranfills Gap Tour

This is the one closest to Joshua, Texas. From QT, we will wind through the countryside hitting some of the most twisty roads this part of Texas has to offer. If you plan on joining us for this event, please email Brian George (bgeorge0049@gmail.com) so that we know to look out for you.
